1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the TapAFix mobile application, website, and all related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By registering, downloading, or using the Platform in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including Customers and Workers (Handymen). If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop using the Platform immediately.

TapAFix reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Definitions

  • “Platform”: The TapAFix mobile app (iOS & Android) and website at tapafix.com.
  • “Customer”: Any user who books handyman services through the Platform.
  • “Worker” / “Handyman”: Any skilled professional registered on the Platform to offer services.
  • “Booking”: A confirmed service request made by a Customer.
  • “Lead”: A job opportunity made visible to a Worker through the Platform.
  • “Coins”: The virtual currency used by Workers to access Leads on the Platform.
  • “OTP”: One-Time Password used to verify job completion.
  • “Dispute”: A formal complaint raised by either a Customer or Worker regarding a booking or service.

3. Eligibility

To use the Platform you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Have a valid payment method (Customers) or valid identity documents (Workers).
  • Comply with all applicable Canadian laws and regulations.

TapAFix reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account found to be in violation of these Terms.

PART A — CUSTOMER TERMS

4. Account Registration

Customers must register using a valid email address or phone number and complete OTP verification. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Booking Methods

TapAFix offers three ways for Customers to book services:

5.1 Direct Booking: Browse available services on the Platform, view Worker profiles, and book a Worker directly. The Worker receives a notification and confirms the booking.

5.2 Broadcast Bidding: Submit a job request that is broadcast to nearby Workers in your area. Interested Workers place bids. You review the bids, compare profiles and pricing, and select the Worker that best suits your needs.

5.3 Bundle Packages: Purchase a pre-defined service package offered by TapAFix. Packages may include multiple services bundled at a combined rate. TapAFix will assign a suitable verified Worker to fulfill the package. Package pricing, inclusions, and duration are managed by TapAFix and are subject to change.

6. Pricing & Final Cost

  • The Platform displays per-hour charges as a general reference only.
  • The final cost of any service is determined after an on-site survey by the assigned Worker.
  • TapAFix is not responsible for the final price agreed upon between the Customer and the Worker.
  • Customers are advised to confirm the final cost with the Worker before any work begins.
  • Any changes to the scope of work after the survey may result in additional charges agreed directly between the Customer and Worker.

7. Payment

  • Payments for Bundle Packages are processed through the Platform via Stripe, PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay.
  • For Direct Bookings and Broadcast jobs, payment is made directly to the Worker outside the Platform.
  • TapAFix does not hold, process, or take any commission from direct Worker payments.
  • All Platform-based transactions are encrypted and secured.

8. Cancellation & Rescheduling

  • Customers may cancel or reschedule a booking through the app before the Worker has been dispatched.
  • Cancellation policies for Bundle Packages are outlined at the time of purchase.
  • Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a cancellation fee at the Worker’s discretion.

9. Customer Responsibilities

As a Customer you agree to:

  • Provide accurate job details, location, and access to your property.
  • Be present or ensure authorized access at the time of the service.
  • Treat all Workers with respect and professionalism.
  • Verify job completion by providing the OTP to the Worker upon satisfactory completion of the service.
  • Not attempt to hire Workers found through the Platform outside of the Platform to circumvent the system.

10. Reviews & Ratings

After a job is completed, Customers are encouraged to leave an honest rating and review of the Worker. Reviews must be truthful and must not contain offensive, defamatory, or misleading content. TapAFix reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

PART B — WORKER (HANDYMAN) TERMS

11. Registration & Verification

Workers must complete the following to activate their account:

  • Provide full name, contact details, service category, and location.
  • Upload valid government-issued ID and relevant trade certificates or licenses.
  • Complete phone number OTP verification.
  • Purchase a minimum entry-level coin package as set by TapAFix admin to activate the account.

TapAFix reserves the right to reject or suspend any Worker account that does not meet verification standards.

12. Coin System

  • Workers use Coins to access and unlock job Leads on the Platform.
  • The value and pricing of Coins is managed dynamically by TapAFix admin and may change at any time.
  • Workers receive a small number of free Coins upon signup to access their first few Leads at no cost.
  • Coins are deducted only after a job is marked as complete AND the OTP has been verified by the Worker. No coins are deducted before job completion.
  • Coins are non-refundable once used.
  • Workers can earn free Coins through the referral program — refer 3 Workers to the Platform and receive free Coins automatically.

13. Lead Handling

  • Workers can view available Leads only when they have sufficient Coins in their account.
  • Workers may accept Direct Bookings or place bids on Broadcast job requests.
  • Accepting a Lead deducts Coins from the Worker’s balance after OTP-verified job completion.
  • Workers are expected to respond to Leads promptly and professionally.

14. Worker Earnings

  • Workers keep 100% of what they earn directly from Customers on Direct Bookings and Broadcast jobs.
  • TapAFix does not take any commission or percentage from Worker earnings on direct jobs.
  • For Bundle Package jobs assigned by TapAFix, payment terms are communicated separately at the time of assignment.
  • Workers are solely responsible for managing their own taxes and financial obligations in accordance with Canadian law.

15. Worker Responsibilities

As a Worker you agree to:

  • Arrive on time and conduct yourself professionally at all times.
  • Carry out an on-site survey before confirming the final cost to the Customer.
  • Complete all jobs to a satisfactory standard.
  • Mark the job as complete on the app and obtain the OTP from the Customer upon job completion.
  • Not solicit Customers found through the Platform for work outside of the Platform.
  • Maintain valid certifications and licenses relevant to your listed service category.

16. Featured Listings

Workers may pay to have their profile featured at the top of search results. Featured listing fees are managed by TapAFix admin and are non-refundable. TapAFix does not guarantee any specific number of Leads or bookings as a result of a featured listing.

17. Incentives

Workers who complete 10 jobs in a single week are eligible to receive 2 free Leads and a complimentary 3-day featured listing. TapAFix reserves the right to modify or discontinue incentive programs at any time.

PART C — GENERAL TERMS (ALL USERS)

18. Communication Policy

All communication between Customers and Workers takes place through the TapAFix in-app chat system. Direct personal communication outside the Platform is at the discretion of both parties. TapAFix is not responsible for any agreements or commitments made outside the Platform chat.

19. Dispute Resolution

  • Both Customers and Workers have the right to raise a formal dispute through the TapAFix Platform.
  • To raise a dispute, submit your complaint through the app or by emailing support@tapafix.com with full details of the issue.
  • TapAFix will review all disputes and take appropriate action, which may include warnings, suspensions, or permanent removal from the Platform.
  • Since final cost agreements and direct communication occur outside the Platform, TapAFix’s ability to mediate financial disputes is limited to Platform-level activity only.
  • TapAFix’s decision on Platform-related disputes is final.

20. Prohibited Conduct

All users agree NOT to:

  • Provide false information during registration or bookings.
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity on the Platform.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any other user.
  • Attempt to bypass the coin or payment system.
  • Post fake reviews or manipulate ratings.
  • Use the Platform for any purpose other than its intended use.

Violation of any of the above may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban.

21. Platform Liability Disclaimer

  • TapAFix is a marketplace platform that connects Customers with independent Workers. TapAFix is not itself a service provider.
  • TapAFix does not guarantee the quality, safety, or outcome of any service performed by a Worker.
  • TapAFix is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or additional costs arising from services booked through the Platform.
  • The final scope of work and cost is solely the responsibility of the Customer and Worker.

22. Account Suspension & Termination

TapAFix reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at its discretion for violations of these Terms. Users may also request account deletion by contacting support@tapafix.com. Termination of an account does not waive any outstanding obligations.

23. Intellectual Property

All content on the TapAFix Platform, including logos, designs, text, and software, is the property of TapAFix Inc. and is protected under applicable Canadian intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any Platform content without prior written permission.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the province in which TapAFix operates. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Canadian courts.

How can I book a service as a Customer? 

Three ways — book directly from available services, submit a broadcast request and receive bids from nearby Workers, or purchase a bundle package and let TapAFix assign a Worker for you.

Is the price shown on the app the final price? 

No. The app shows per hour charges as a general reference only. The final cost is confirmed by the Worker after an on-site survey before work begins.

Who do I pay — TapAFix or the Worker? 

For Direct Bookings and Broadcast jobs, payment goes directly to the Worker. For Bundle Packages, payment is processed through the Platform.

Does TapAFix take a cut from what Workers earn?

Can TapAFix resolve payment disputes between Customers and Workers? 

TapAFix can only act on Platform-level activity. Since direct payments and communication happen outside the Platform, financial disputes between users are handled directly between the two parties.

What if a Worker performs poorly? 

Customers can raise a dispute through the Platform and leave an honest review. TapAFix will investigate and may warn, suspend, or permanently remove the Worker depending on the severity of the issue.

Is TapAFix responsible if something goes wrong during a job? 

No. TapAFix is a marketplace platform connecting Customers with independent Workers. The quality and outcome of any service is the sole responsibility of the Worker. TapAFix is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from services booked through the Platform.
